A non-profit organization established to serve qualified patients suffering from debilitating conditions, such as Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV/AIDS, Crohn’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Central Ave Compassionate Care Inc., located at 31 Central Avenue in Ayer, Mass., has completed the architectural review phase and is working toward final inspection by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  While not yet operational, Central Ave Compassionate Care is working to open as a Registered Marijuana Dispensary for the production and dispensing of marijuana for medical use  to only qualified, registered patients or their registered caregivers, as permitted under state law passed in November 2012 and strictly regulated by the DPH.

Only after obtaining registration from the state will production and dispensing begin.  In the meantime, work is underway to renovate the facility to meet or exceed state and local regulations.

The regulations include standards for dispensing, security and inventory control.

As a non-profit organization established by a local resident with strong community ties, Central Ave Compassionate Care is committed to serving qualified patients and supporting its home community in the form of grants for youth drug prevention, public safety, education and other areas of interest to the community.

Facility Operations

All facility operations will occur on site, including the production of marijuana for medical use and marijuana-infused products.  Production will be limited to amounts needed to fill patient orders.  Operations can occur only after final registration from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is secured.  Central Ave Compassionate Care is currently engaged in the process of obtaining the final certificate from the Massachusetts DPH .

The products will be provided in small quantities in opaque, secure packaging with warning labels. Products will never mimic any popular food or drink that may be inviting to children.  Patients will be educated about proper use and storage of the product.

The facility will employ security measures equivalent to or exceeding those of a bank or pharmacy.  The facility will use state-of-the-art alarm systems, comprehensive video surveillance and other measures to ensure the security of patients, employees and the general public, as well as the building and its contents.

We are committed to the security of our employees, patients and the general public.  No one should be at any more risk at our facility than they might be at a bank or a pharmacy.
